about

False Maria is a project that came together when Tomasz and Jhane found each other through their love of industrial, noise, and electronic music. Tomasz, UK based and Jhane US, using today’s available technology are able to merge together their ideas and create artistically as they work their way thru their mental struggles.
The first band the two connected over was Nocturnal Emissions and their love of the brilliant mind of one very amazing Nigel Ayers:
“He is really quite impressive. Truly a mind of an artist who also sees things with the wonderment of a child. His body of work continues to always be relevant and exciting. On Instagram, he does videos he posts from his shed that are always interesting or humorous and I can honestly say he is one of the neatest people I have encountered. He is such an inspiration in all he does. Even walking the dog he makes into a fantastical task. He is one of the few people that every time we learn something new about him, we are delighted and grow even more curious! He is constantly saying things that make us contemplate and look differently about things. One time he said, “Things that accumulate, without thinking, form patterns and connections and that’s the essence of it all really.” I wrote it down when I heard it. These little nuggets of knowledge that he imparts, his art, his vision and also his compassion always leave me feeling really good that a man like this is here in our world. A great artist of our time. Getting the chance to remix some of the source sounds from such an icon has truly been a pleasure for us both.”
