LUIS IGNACIO MARÍN. BIOGRAPHY

Discography.- Wind Quintet No. 1, String Quartet, “Two Chinese Poems” for voice, flute and clarinet, “Pentatonia” musical tale, “La Purísima” processional march, “Blue Birds” for voice and orchestra, commissioned by the Andalusian Parliament, premiered by the ROSS at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville; “Black butterflies” for solo cello, “Atardecer en Doñana” for guitar; "In the bay", electroacoustic music; "Immanencias", for wind quintet.

Symphonic premieres of the ROSS at the Maestranza Theater in Seville.- Fantasy for orchestra, ("Joaquín Turina" Award from the Seville City Council), "Poet in New York", commissioned by the Council of Culture of the Junta from Andalusia; "Symbols", commissioned by the University of Seville.

Other awards.- “Rosario López Muñiz” Award from the city of Cabra (Córdoba) to the cantata Yolas (1983), for soprano or tenor and piano; Award of the Hon. Athenaeum of Seville (1992) to the Fantasy for piano.

Other works.- A string quartet (1997) premiered at the Higher Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Greece, (then the European Capital of Culture) within the Festival "Live Music of the Mediterranean"; Fanfarria del Sur (2003), for 2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba and percussion, premiered on the occasion of the opening of the 1st Spanish Music Festival of Cádiz; “Broken Windows” (2008) for solo cello and orchestra premiered at the VI Spanish Music Festival of Cádiz; conclusion and orchestration of the Fantasia for piano and orchestra by M. Castillo.

His works have been performed in Spain, Greece, Poland, Hungary, China, the South African Republic and the USA, among other countries.

Other information.- He studied Composition at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Seville under the direction of Manuel Castillo. Since 1988 he was Full Professor of Counterpoint and Fugue at the "Manuel Castillo" Superior Conservatory of Music in Seville, a center where he entered in 1979. From January 2007 to June 2013 he was director of said center.
