about

The track “To all of our friends across the pond (The Wagon Train mix)” was produced by One Deck Pete (Madtone) with Reason software using samples exclusively from Nocturnal Emissions.
“As a massive radio fan I loved the sample of Cowboy Joe reading out a dedication from a listener on the track “Where dust settles” off  “The World Turned Gingham” by Hank & Slim. I decided I will use it on my track as I have friends from Leeds, England who will totally agree that there are many cowboys there.
The main ambient parts were from a couple of different samples from “Baudolino” from “Minimal Works” which were edited and collaged around throughout the track. A lot of delay, echo and effects were added to them too.
The repeated funk type stabs were a sample from “Viral Load Dub” from “In Dub Volume 2” played via a keyboard on the NN19 Reason sampler.
The bass parts were played via a keyboard on the NN19 Reason sampler and were sampled from the bass on “It goes like this (Piano version)” also off  “In Dub Volume 2” and put through Reason's Line 6 bass amp.
The drums were taken from the track “Boo” from Autonomia and played through Reason's Redrum drum machine.
If only this track was played on shortwave radio and that the listener with all his cowboy friends from Leeds, England and the great Cowboy Joe were all sitting around the campfire tuning in, it would be a dream come true.”
