Process:
I acquired a collection of drive-in theatre trailers and bumpers. I
split the audio out of these videos and processed it. I took 5 tracks
and put into a Kinect driven granular synthesizer and danced a base
track, pulling grains out of these advertisements. Then within audacity
I imported this "dance"-track and the other trailers and pieced it
together with the intent to expose the listener to the painful
interruption of advertisements by the announcer telling us when the
movie is going. I created some repeating textures, which are there to
provide an anchor yet intended to leave the unsatisfied, hoping for more
rhythmic structure (which there will be none).
