Steckdose - Machine Submersion

from through by hand by Various Artists

/

about

Hailing from the cultural tundra of post-industrial Teesside, Steckdose has been providing improvised ambient, techno, and noise soundworlds from a base in Birmingham for over a decade. With a focus on live work, and now working mainly with a modular synth, the drones, loops and field recordings have been heard supporting the likes of Iron Fist of the Sun, Kate Arnold, Wild Rani, and Knifedoutofexistence; while providing remixed versions of tracks by khost, Attrition, and Drooping Finger, and appearing on releases by Still Heat and Terranean Recordings. A recent twist towards the art world has seen Steckdose perform a live film score at the Ikon Gallery, as part of a 25 piece orchestra, and appear at festivals such as Ten Acres of Sound and Tramlines.
