'In loving memory'

an acousmatic piece done with only one sound object, my dog snoring. Lucas is a 7 year Pug with a mean snore

Concept:
It was recorded while the dog was sleeping during a quiet summer evening. Recorded with condenser microphones in close position to gather all detail. This way capturing whistles and strange noises in the snore. Sound manipulation was done in Audacity, Puredata and finally mixed/spatialized in Cubase 8.5 Pro. The piece is quadraphonic but can be diffused to more channels or reduced to stereo. Each axis represents the breathing process, inhale and exhale and invites the listener to recognise the sounds

Cláudio Miguel Andrade Fonseca de Pina, studied Physics Engineering in FCUL. Started his studies at the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon. Further studying in Hot Jazz Club. Attended several masterclasses regarding composition, early music and electroacoustic music. Studied composition with César Viana, Eduardo Vaz Palma, Eurico Carrapatoso, Pedro Madaleno, Adrian Moore and Jaime Reis. Titular organist of the historic pipe organ of the church of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda. Lecturer and teacher of synthesis, keyboard instruments and composition. Currently enrolled in Musical Art MA in FCSH under the orientation of Isabel Pires
