Source samples were taken from a vinyl recording of Schubert's Symphony
No. 8 in B minor ('the unfinished symphony').
The speed and direction of the record was manipulated by hand and by
turntable motor, the final mix of the sound sources was done in real time
on computer.
Recording assistance by Hector Benitez.
Recorded in Tijuana, B.C., México in autumn of 2013.
The Image
A simple manipulation showing the composer backwards and scratched in
an overall sombre image as the sounds in the track suggest.
Victor Alzina
Victor Alzina, Tijuana, Mexico, started in 1999 making sounds influenced
mostly by environmental noises, ethnic/folk music, early industrial music
and musique concrète.
