I studied Godard at film college briefly along with Warhol etc and always admired his feeling of isolationism that he often portrayed, and his mischievous disregard for convention.
He believe him to be one of the most important figures of avant garde cinema during the 60's, at a time when such a pioneer was often disregarded in Europe. The mainstream just couldnt be bothered to look into covering his work properly, for risk of arousing political unrest.
