Morton Feldman talked a lot about his “concentration”. I liked that even though I would call it “focus”. I realized every step of my process has my full concentration. From recording the sounds in the field or studio, editing out and concentrating down the sections that have caught my ear, manipulating the different aspects of these recorded samples and then redistributing them as an “acousmatic” composition, clearly designed to come out of speakers. I want the final result to represent the endless supply of sounds that are all around us and in our lives. I concentrate and redistribute them.
